Bitcoin Will Suffer No Elites

After the spectacularly successful Bitcoin Miami Conference 2021, there may have been a few, long standing members of the community who came away thinking they were now on top of the world.

Suddenly famous,

Breaking bread, steaks and whisky amongst the new AAA+ Bitcoin fraternity.

Life couldn’t get any better. The new world order had arrived, and right there in Miami were all the key players, together.

In the background, Matt Odell’s persistent mantra to “Stay humble and Stack Sats,” crumbled slightly.

The long promised dream of total Bitcoinization was looking like reality, and the conference did a fantastic job of showcasing what had the potential to become the Bitcoin’s future mega stars.

Except, Bitcoin had different ideas.

It will suffer no elites.

And so a few days later, in a mind boggling display of self-sabotaging, Robert Breedlove, who had spent years cultivating a persona of the intelligent, measured and thoughtful thinker in the Bitcoin space posted:

This was no less than a principal Orange Pill proponent shilling what is clear to all a scammy shitcoin. The cyber hornets rightly attacked with force and venom.

Robert Breedlove

Now, a noob could be excused for asking such a dumb question or posting an obvious shitcoin link, but from a person of Breedlove’s calibre it was spectacularly clumsy.

El Salvador had just passed a bill to adopt Bitcoin, the first sovereign state to do so. A showdown between the IMF and El Salvador was brewing over loans.

Michael Saylor had just annnounced another huge 500million buying spree, and one of Bitcoin’s leading philosophers was directing his follower’s attention to comment on a shitcoin.

At this point, Breedlove had dropped the ball, but his brand wasn’t irreparably damaged. A timely and sincere apology would easily right his ship.

But in an equally shocking move, Breedlove decided to double, and then triple down on his tweet, blaming his followers for not being open minded enough to want to examine what was obviously a turd.

He tweeted:

“Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.”

The Hornets raged more!

If one finds a piece of shit, you don’t need to post it on Twitter to confirm that it’s in fact …. a shit!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For reasons unknown, possibly his ego, Breedlove dug in more, proclaiming that, “only God could judge him,” causing his sagacious brand to freefall into oblivion.

However, the sacrifice of Breedlove on the pyre of self-inflicted stupidity raised a novel question for the newly anointed Bitcoin celebrities fresh from the Miami conference. Should they let the cyber hornets, many of who are new to the space, maul a much loved friend and influencer or should they step in and say enough is enough?

A little top down dominance to tell the noobs to respect the fledgling Bitcoin Elite stars?

Characteristically, Odell bristled with a spot-on rant,

Peter McCormack tried to save Breedlove with humor, which sadly fell upon deaf ears.

And Udi Wertheimer took it upon himself to come riding in on a white horse to rally the Bitcoin ‘in-crowd’ around Breedlove, flinging around passive aggressive comments about how rich he was, or how long he’d been in the space as proof of his pedigree to assert protection.

Still the Bitcoin Twitterverse raged with the hum of the cyber hornets,

but the lesson was clear:

Not a week after the largest Bitcoin gathering ever, and before it had any chance to form, the notion that there could be a group of Bitcoin super celebs, who exist above the fray and beyond reproach had been ripped asunder by the cyber hornets.

No one was off limits. You lived and died by your words and actions. There is no Bitcoin pedigree to claim.
